Pastor Kevin Brown was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, a Raven, and Oriole fan. He married the love of his life, Norma, in June 1978. They have one son, Isaiah Brown, who currently works full-time as the worship director for Life House Church in Newport News. Pastor Kevin honorably served in the USAF for 26 years, receiving a host of awards, decorations, and accolades, including being inducted into the USAF Safety Hall of Fame. Pastor Kevin enjoyed ministry worldwide, including Germany, England, Holland, Austria, Iceland, Haiti, and Africa. His ministry also reached various states, including Texas, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Illinois, with 22 of his 39 years in Virginia. Pastor Kevin has received numerous awards, citations, and certificates of recognition, including the Chief Of Chaplains of the Air Force and the Navy's Chief of Chaplains certificates of appreciation. The key themes emerging from his life’s ministry center around pastoral care and evangelism. Rev. Dr. Kevin Brown retains five degrees, including an MDiv from North Park Theological Seminary, a DBS from Grace Bible College & Theological Seminary, and a Hon D.D. from the International Seminary. Pastor Kevin is poised to lead our congregation to the next level in church and community development. He envisions a church passionate in word, worship, and outreach. He believes a church not growing is not going, and a church not going is not growing and going vibrantly and proactively to serve our community and each other. He sees each member as a servant leader. He learned from the military that everyone could be a leader, and indeed we in the body of Christ are no exception. He learned from Jesus that the greatest in the kingdom of God are the servants, so each member is charged to strive to serve as Jesus did. He often refers to himself as the chief servant of the church.
